Bola Tinubu Removes UNIABUJA Vice-Chancellor, Orders Overhaul in Federal Universities

Bola Tinubu, a key political figure in Nigeria, has taken significant actions in the education sector by removing Aisha Maikudi as the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja and dissolving the governing council. Professor Lar Patricia Manko has been appointed as the acting Vice-Chancellor of Yakubu Gowon University for a six-month term.

Similar changes were made at other federal universities, such as the University of Nigeria Nsukka, where Professor Polycarp Emeka Chigbu was replaced by Professor Oguejiofu T. Ujam as the acting Vice-Chancellor.

Additionally, new Pro-Chancellors were appointed for various universities, including the University of Uyo and Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education. These changes were made effective immediately, following reported irregularities in the selection process for leadership positions at the University of Abuja.
