President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Anambra State Governor Professor Charles Soludo met behind closed doors at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. The meeting, reported by Channels Television, is speculated to be connected to the upcoming November 8, 2025, governorship election in Anambra State, where Governor Soludo is seeking a second term under the platform of the Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Governor Soludo was seen wearing a cap bearing Tinubu's infinity logo, sparking rumors of an endorsement. The full list of candidates for the election was released by Sam Olumekun, with Fabian Ozoigbo, a strong ally of former presidential candidate Peter Obi, switching to the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Labour Party.

Ozoigbo praised President Tinubu's leadership style and expressed willingness to be part of the new Nigeria Tinubu is building.
