Uba Sani Launches 7 Women Empowerment Policies in Kaduna

Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has implemented seven innovative women empowerment policies, as highlighted by the Gender Policy Institute (4GPI). These policies aim to reshape opportunities for women and set a new national benchmark for gender-inclusive governance.

Key initiatives include reserving 20% of government contracts for women-owned businesses and providing 100% waivers on registration fees for women-owned firms. Additionally, the administration has allocated 50% reductions on tender fees to facilitate women's participation in public procurement.

The policies have already benefited 10,700 women entrepreneurs through financial support for small businesses. The Kaduna State government has also targeted vulnerable women through poverty reduction programs, providing livelihood support to 4,900 underserved women.

Furthermore, the state has invested heavily in training 5,000 rural women in modern agricultural techniques. These reforms have garnered recognition, with Kaduna State winning the Best Government Support for Women Families Award at the Voice of Women Conference.
