Zulum Deploys Security to Borno Town After Troop Withdrawal

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has deployed security forces to Kirawa border town following the withdrawal of Cameroonian troops. The pullout of Cameroonian soldiers created a security gap that allowed Boko Haram insurgents to invade the town, resulting in casualties and property destruction.

Zulum expressed regret over the repeated attacks on border communities and emphasized the need for enhanced security measures. The governor has engaged with military commanders to ensure the protection of strategic border towns.

The Nigerian Army is set to deploy additional troops to Kirawa to address the security challenges promptly and prevent further insurgent attacks.
