Brighton Stuns Manchester City with Historic Away Win
Brighton secured a historic 1-0 victory over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, marking their first-ever Premier League away win against the defending champions after 18 attempts. Yasin Ayari scored the decisive goal in the 11th minute, giving Brighton an early lead.
Despite intense pressure from Manchester City in the second half, Brighton maintained their advantage, with goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen making several key saves. Jack Hinshelwood nearly added a second goal for Brighton, but his shot hit the side netting.
This victory is particularly significant for Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler, as it serves as a form of revenge after his team lost to City on penalties in the League Cup just days earlier. With this win, Brighton moves to third in the league, just two points behind the leaders, and demonstrates their potential in the title race this season.
