British Airways Donates Laptops to Nigerian Children

British Airways donated laptops to the IA Foundation to assist out-of-school children in Nigeria, aiming to bridge the digital divide and enhance access to technology for educational purposes. The donation was disclosed in a statement released on Saturday, following a handover ceremony held in Lagos State.

Diran Famakinwa, chairman of the IA Foundation, received the laptops on behalf of the organization, alongside British Airways representatives, including account manager Peju Diya and administrative manager Matthew Akano. The foundation expects that the donation will improve access to digital learning tools for children with little or no exposure to computers during their education.

Ms. Op Adedara from the IA Foundation described the donation as timely, helping prepare beneficiaries for an increasingly digital world.

The foundation aims to reintegrate vulnerable children into formal education and calls for corporate organizations to invest in expanding educational opportunities for disadvantaged children. Ibironk Adeagbo, founder of the IA Foundation, stressed the need for collective action to tackle Nigeria's educational crisis, which affects 18 million school-age children currently outside the formal education system.
