BUA Cement Supports 300 Displaced Farmers in Sokoto

BUA Cement has commenced a program to distribute agricultural inputs to 300 displaced farmers in the Wamakko Local Government Area of Sokoto State. This initiative is part of the company's Sustainable Livelihood Restoration Program, which aims to support farmers displaced due to the company's operational expansion.

The distribution exercise began on Thursday, with the chairman of Wamakko Local Government, Umar Mohammed, commending BUA Cement for its ongoing support to farmers in the area. The program is expected to benefit approximately 1,500 people across affected communities.

The managing director of BUA Cement, Yusuf Binji, and the director of corporate affairs, Sada Sulaiman, emphasized that the initiative is designed to help restore the livelihoods of displaced farmers by providing agricultural inputs to improve their farming capacity and yield. The distribution will occur in two batches, with 150 farmers receiving inputs in the first batch.

Additionally, BUA Cement plans to introduce entrepreneurship training and skill acquisition programs for community members not involved in crop farming.
