BUA Foods Plc released its unaudited Q1 2026 financial results for the three months ended 31 March 2026. The filing shows a 14% year-on-year increase in Profit After Tax to ₦142.32 billion, alongside an 11% decline in revenue to ₦394.6 billion.

BUA Foods Plc disclosed its unaudited Q1 2026 results on 30 April 2026, covering the three-month period ended 31 March 2026. Revenue declined 11% year-on-year to ₦394.6 billion from ₦442.1 billion in Q1 2025, with the Sugar division falling 19% to ₦171.7 billion and the Flour division declining 22% to ₦137.4 billion. The Sugar division attributed its drop to reduced demand, while both segments saw lower cost of sales contribute to improved margins.

Cost of sales fell 22% to ₦218.97 billion, helping gross profit rise 9% to ₦175.65 billion. Gross profit margin expanded by 810 basis points to 44.5%. Operating profit grew 11% to ₦154.66 billion, with operating profit margin improving 800 basis points to 39%. Net finance costs dropped 70.3% to ₦899 million, attributed to no additional borrowing during the period. Profit Before Tax rose 13% to ₦153.8 billion, and Earnings Per Share increased 14% to ₦7.91. Total assets stood at ₦1.556 trillion, while total equity grew 20% to ₦855.76 billion, driven by a 20% increase in retained earnings to ₦847.7 billion.
