BUA Foods Q1 2026 Results: PAT Rises 14% to ₦142bn

BUA Foods Plc released its unaudited financial results for the three months ended 31 March 2026, showing Profit After Tax rising 14% year-on-year to ₦142.32 billion, up from ₦125.28 billion in Q1 2025. Revenue declined 11% to ₦394.62 billion from ₦442.06 billion, driven by a 19% drop in Sugar revenue to ₦171.7 billion and a 22% drop in Flour revenue to ₦137.4 billion.
Despite the revenue contraction, Cost of Sales fell 22% to ₦218.97 billion, pushing Gross Profit up 9% to ₦175.65 billion. Gross Profit Margin expanded by 810 basis points to 44.5%.
Operating Profit grew 11% to ₦154.66 billion, with an Operating Profit Margin of 39%, up 800 basis points year-on-year. Net Finance Costs fell 70.3% to ₦899 million, attributed to no additional borrowing during the period.
EBITDA rose 11% to ₦157.13 billion, with EBITDA margin at 39.8%. Earnings Per Share increased 14% to ₦7.91.
Total assets stood at ₦1.556 trillion, while Total Equity grew 20% to ₦855.76 billion. The Sugar division contributed 43% of revenue and the Flour division 35%.
