Nigerian Govt Updates on Detained NAF Officers in Burkina Faso

The Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that a Nigerian soldier aboard a C-130 aircraft that made a forced landing in Burkina Faso is still in the country. The Nigerian Air Force had explained that the aircraft experienced technical issues during a ferry mission to Portugal, leading to the landing in Bobo Dioulasso.

Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger accused Nigeria of violating Burkina's airspace, describing the landing as an unfriendly act. The soldier's status remains in Burkina Faso, as clarified by Benin's Foreign Minister during a joint press briefing in Abuja with ECOWAS.
