Businessman Alleges Fraud by Wike's Son in Land Deal
Safwan Garba has filed a petition with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) alleging that Jordan Nyesom-Wike, son of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, collected $2.1 million under the pretense of facilitating the allocation of 60 hectares of land in Abuja. The petition, dated December 11, 2025, and signed by lawyer Hamza Dantani, claims that Jordan falsely represented himself as having his father's approval for the land acquisition in Katampe and Guzape districts.
The businessman met Jordan in London, and upon returning to Nigeria, Jordan allegedly demanded $2 million to be delivered to his father and an additional $100,000 as a personal facilitation fee. The payments were made in cash on October 17, 2025, in the presence of witnesses.
Jordan promised to deliver the land within a month but failed to do so and became unreachable afterward. The petition urges the EFCC to investigate and prosecute Jordan for fraud and related offences.
