Bye-elections: APC Sweeps 12 Constituencies, APGA 2, PDP 1, NNPP 1

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged victorious in 12 out of the 16 constituencies across 12 states in the recent bye-elections, with the Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) winning two, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) securing one, and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) gaining one constituency. The election was seen as a critical test of the major political parties' strength ahead of the 2023 general elections.

President Bola Tinubu celebrated the APC's success and commended the party's candidates and supporters. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was praised for conducting the election with minimal violence.

However, there were reports of violence and voter suppression in some districts, leading to calls for the cancellation of the election in certain areas. The APC's victory was seen as an endorsement of Tinubu's administration and the party's Renewed Hope Agenda.
