CAF Unveils 2026 FIFA World Cup Africa Qualifiers Play-Off Details

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has revealed the format for the 2026 FIFA World Cup Africa qualifiers play-offs, involving 54 nations competing for a chance to secure a spot in the tournament. The qualifiers will feature nine groups with six teams each, with the group winners automatically qualifying for the World Cup.

The playoff format will see the top-ranked countries facing off against lower-ranked teams to determine the final African representative for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The playoffs are scheduled for November 2025, with the winner advancing to the intercontinental playoffs in March 2026.
