Rangers Seek Convincing Win Against SOBEMAP in CAF CL

Amobi Ezeaku, the manager of Rangers International, has stated that the Nigeria Premier Football League champions must not be complacent as they prepare to face SOBEMAP from Benin Republic in the preliminary round of the 2026/27 CAF Champions League. The match is scheduled for Sunday at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta, which Rangers have adopted as their temporary home ground due to renovations at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium in Enugu.

After a 1-1 draw in their opening NPFL match against Katsina United, the team is focused on their continental campaign. Ezeaku is counting on the support of fans from Abeokuta, Lagos, Ikenne, and neighboring states, stressing the importance of winning convincingly to advance.

Rangers aim to make a significant impact in the competition, recalling their historical success with the 1977 African Cup Winners’ Cup. Their last attempt to progress in the CAF Champions League ended in failure after winning the NPFL title in 2024.
