Super Eagles Coach Faces Pressure to Trim Squad for 2025 AFCON in Morocco

Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle is under pressure to reduce the squad size for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco following new CAF regulations. Chelle had initially submitted a 55-man provisional list but must now trim it significantly to comply with the new rules.

The final squad can only have 27 players, with CAF covering expenses for 23 players, leaving the Nigerian Football Federation to fund the remaining slots.
