ADC Chieftain Urges Tinubu to Control APC in Edo State

Ken Imasuagbon, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Edo State, has called on President Bola Tinubu to take immediate action to control members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state. This appeal follows reports of an attack on the ADC secretariat in Benin City, which Imasuagbon described as a dangerous sign for democracy.

The attack occurred on a Tuesday and involved gunmen who fired shots, injuring ADC members and damaging property. Imasuagbon emphasized that the situation in Edo State is deteriorating due to political intolerance and warned that failure to address these issues could lead to chaos.

He urged President Tinubu to demonstrate leadership by promoting tolerance and internal discipline within the APC. Additionally, he called on Governor Monday Okpebholo to maintain law and order, stressing the importance of safeguarding Edo's democratic heritage.

The ADC's account of the attack has been contested by the Edo State government, which denied any involvement in the violence.
