CAN Urges Nigerian Government to Enhance Mental Health Policies

Archbishop Daniel Okoh, the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), called on the Nigerian government to strengthen mental health policies and boost budgetary allocations at the National Mental Health Summit in Abuja. He emphasized the need for increased integration of mental health services into primary healthcare.

Okoh highlighted the stigma surrounding mental health within religious circles and urged for a shift in perspective towards providing empathy, care, and treatment. The summit aimed to address mental health challenges in Nigeria and promote mental health education within congregations.
