Canada Launches New Immigration Pathways for Skilled Workers

On Wednesday, the Government of Canada, represented by Immigration Minister Lena Metlege Diab, announced the introduction of five new express entry draw categories aimed at skilled workers from Nigeria and other countries. This initiative is part of Canada's strategy to address labor shortages and is set to target a 2026 goal.

The new categories will prioritize professions that include Canadian work experience, specifically in fields such as medicine, research, and senior management. Additionally, the categories will focus on transport workers and military recruits with job offers from the Canadian Armed Forces.
