Morocco and Seychelles Citizens Can Travel to Canada with eTA

Citizens of Morocco and Seychelles can now access a simpler route to Canada through an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA), introduced by the Canadian government in 2023. This option allows eligible passport holders to travel by air without applying for a traditional visitor visa, although it does not apply to all citizens of these countries.

To qualify for the eTA, Moroccan and Seychellois citizens must meet three specific conditions; those who do not meet all requirements must still obtain a visitor visa. The eTA is electronically linked to the traveller's passport and does not guarantee entry into Canada.

The application fee for the eTA is C$7, and most applications are processed quickly, although additional information may be requested by immigration officials. It is important to note that the eTA is only applicable for air travel; those travelling by land or sea must still possess a valid visitor visa.

Travellers with an existing Canadian visitor visa can continue to use it until it expires without needing to apply for an eTA.
