Carrick Praises United After Thrilling Champions League Win
Manchester United manager Michael Carrick praised his players following their dramatic 3-2 comeback win over Roma in the UEFA Champions League at Old Trafford. United overcame a two-goal deficit, with Matheus Cunha scoring twice in a late surge.
Academy graduate Shea Lacey, who came off the bench, provided crucial assists for the goals. Carrick emphasized that he felt proud of the players rather than relieved by the victory, stating, "I was genuinely pleased for the players.
I know how much they care." He also commended Lacey's confidence and impact, noting his ability and desire to perform well. Carrick expressed disappointment over Cunha's late red card but acknowledged the forward's determination and contribution to the team's success.
The manager's comments were shared by football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on 𝕏.
