Carrick Urges Tuchel to Select United Trio for England

Michael Carrick, the interim manager of Manchester United, has called on England's head coach Thomas Tuchel to include United players Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw, and Kobbi Mainoo in the squad for upcoming friendlies against Japan and Uruguay in March. Carrick emphasized the importance of these players, particularly Maguire, who has featured in three major tournaments and has 64 caps, and Shaw, who played in the Euro final two years ago.

Mainoo, despite not having a Premier League start in four months, has made ten international appearances recently. Carrick noted that the absence of United players from the England squad does not reflect their capabilities, stating that they have put themselves in the right conversation for selection.

He expressed confidence that they have done enough to warrant a place in the squad, especially with the Euro 2024 finals against Spain approaching. Carrick's comments come as he aims to revitalize Manchester United's performance, currently sitting in third place ahead of their match against Bournemouth.
