England Squad Announced for Pre-World Cup Friendlies

England's national football team manager, Thomas Tuchel, has announced a 35-man squad for upcoming pre-World Cup friendlies against Uruguay on March 27 and Japan on March 31. Key inclusions are Harry Maguire, who has 64 caps, and Kobbi Mainoo, a starter in the Euro 2024 final, marking his first call-up due to improved club form.

Other notable inclusions are Dominic Calvert-Lewin, James Garner, Jason Steel, and Fikayo Tomori. However, the squad will miss several players, including Trent Alexander-Arnold and Luke Shaw.

Jude Bellingham has been named in the squad despite injury concerns, with Tuchel explaining that he selected a larger squad than usual to assess players ahead of the tournament. The FIFA World Cup will take place in the United States, Canada, and Mexico starting June 11, 2026.

The squad features goalkeepers Dean Henderson, Jordan Pickford, and Aaron Ramsdale, along with a mix of defenders, midfielders, and forwards.
