CAS announces verdict on Crystal Palace's demotion to the Conference League

Crystal Palace supporters will have to watch their team play in the UEFA Conference League next season after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) upheld UEFA's decision to demote the Eagles from the Europa League. The original decision was made on July 11, with American businessman John Textor's control and influence over the club being a key factor.

Despite Crystal Palace's appeal, CAS dismissed it, stating that the club had breached UEFA ownership regulations. As a result, Crystal Palace will now compete in the Conference League, while Nottingham Forest will take their place in the Europa League.

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish expressed disappointment in the verdict but stated that the team would look for alternative solutions. The team's upcoming matches in the Conference League have been scheduled, with the first leg set to take place on August 21.
