Trump Prohibits Israel from Attacking Lebanon Amid Ceasefire

On Friday, Donald Trump, the President of the United States, announced that the U.S. will prohibit Israel from carrying out additional attacks on Lebanon as a fragile ceasefire begins to take effect. This statement was made on his Truth Social platform.

Trump declared that no further strikes will be allowed, emphasizing that "enough is enough." The ceasefire, which was officially declared on November 2024, follows a conflict that has resulted in at least 2,196 deaths and 7,185 injuries over 45 days of Israeli attacks on Lebanon, displacing over one million people and worsening the humanitarian situation. The conflict began with Israeli attacks on Lebanon in October 2023.

Despite the ceasefire declaration, reports indicate ongoing violations, with Israel expanding its offensive again on March 2. Trump also mentioned that the U.S. will continue to work with Lebanon to address the situation involving Hezbollah, whose disarmament has long been a goal for both the United States and Israel.
