Trump Announces 10-Day Ceasefire Between Lebanon, Israel

On Tuesday, Donald Trump announced a 10-day ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel, which will commence at 5 PM EST. This agreement follows the first direct meeting between Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in 34 years, held in Washington D.C.

Despite the ceasefire announcement, reports indicated that the Israeli army continued its attacks on Lebanon, even after a two-week ceasefire agreement involving the U.S., Israel, and Iran took effect the previous week. Netanyahu's office stated that the ceasefire does not apply to the ongoing attacks in southern Lebanon.

Trump highlighted the significance of this ceasefire, stating it would mark the end of the 10th war between Lebanon and Israel, and took credit for facilitating the agreement, which he claimed would contribute to peace in the region. The meeting included key figures such as Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Vice President JD Vance, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Razin.
