Court Judgment Deregisters Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC)

A certified true copy of a court judgment has surfaced, which deregisters the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). The judgment was delivered by Justice Isa H.

Dashen in Lokoja on December 10, 2025. This ruling nullifies a previous order that compelled the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register the party.

The NDC has claimed ownership of its logo and has been involved in a lawsuit against the INEC. Haruna, the INEC chairman, stated that the commission is awaiting official paperwork regarding the judgment and cannot comment further until it is received.

The NDC's letter of intent to register as a political party has been rejected by INEC. Additionally, the NDC has been denied access to the portal needed to upload its candidate list for the 2027 general elections.

Osa, the NDC director, confirmed that efforts to secure the necessary credentials for portal access have been unsuccessful.
