CHAN 2024: Congo coach, Ngatsono rues defeat to Nigeria

Congo's head coach, Barthelemy Ngatsono, expressed disappointment over his team's defeat to Nigeria in the CHAN 2024 Group encounter. The Super Eagles emerged victorious in the game played at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Despite Congo's efforts in the first half, they were unable to secure a win as Nigeria's Anas Yusuf and Sikiru Alimi scored in the second period. Ngatsono admitted that the Home Eagles were a strong and well-prepared team, acknowledging their physical fitness and ball control.

He lamented that despite Congo's good preparation and planning, Nigeria proved to be the better team on the night. The defeat has now eliminated Congo from the CHAN 2024 tournament.
