Home-based Eagles Exit CHAN on High with 2-0 Win over Congo

The Home-based Eagles secured a 2-0 victory over Congo Red Devils in their final game at the African Nations Championship, held in Dar es Salaam. The Nigerian team, already eliminated from the tournament after disappointing performances in their first two matches, showed renewed energy and determination in this game.

After a goalless first half, Anas Yusuf opened the scoring in the 56th minute with a header, followed by Sikiru Alimi's goal in added time. This win was the team's first in the competition since 2018.

Despite the victory, the Eagles will be heading back home on Thursday, ending their CHAN campaign on a high note. Congo, on the other hand, failed to progress to the knockout rounds after securing only two points in their group stage matches.
