Behind-the-Scenes of Hilda Baci's Record-Breaking Cook-a-thon

Chef Gbolabo Adebakin, known as Captain Gibbs and convener of The Nigeria Food Summit, revealed the extensive behind-the-scenes planning that enabled Nigerian chef Hilda Baci to set a Guinness World Record for the longest individual cooking marathon. The cook-a-thon lasted approximately four days, but the support team dedicated nearly a week to preparation.

Adebakin described the operation as a significant logistical challenge involving menu planning, ingredient sourcing, staff coordination, and strict adherence to Guinness World Records guidelines. He noted that the scale of preparation was much larger than typical catering events, as the team had to provide thousands of meals while complying with competition requirements.

Adebakin also mentioned that the planning included developing a menu that showcased Nigerian cuisine, which was a priority for Baci. The team carefully scheduled cooking processes to ensure meals could be prepared within the time limits set by the competition.
