Chef Adebakin Reveals Secrets Behind Hilda Baci's Record

Chef Gbolabo Adebakin, also known as Captain Gibbs and convener of The Nigeria Food Summit, revealed the extensive behind-the-scenes efforts that facilitated Hilda Baci's achievement of the Guinness World Record for the longest individual cooking marathon. The cook-a-thon lasted approximately four days, but the support team dedicated nearly a week to preparation.

Adebakin described the operation as a significant logistical challenge involving menu planning, ingredient sourcing, and strict adherence to Guinness World Records guidelines. He noted that the scale of preparation was much larger than typical catering events, as the team had to provide thousands of meals while meeting competition requirements.

Adebakin shared that he initially booked a hotel nearby for rest but ultimately stayed at the venue throughout the event due to the demands of the task. He emphasized the importance of developing a menu that complied with Guinness regulations while showcasing Nigerian cuisine, which was a priority for Baci.
