During the match, Neto attempted to restart play quickly by throwing the ball to a teammate, but the ball boy did not return it promptly.

Neto immediately apologized to the referee for his actions, which did not result in a card during the match. Despite the absence of a field sanction, UEFA has decided to review the incident further.

The European football governing body confirmed that the proceedings against Neto are due to unsportsmanlike conduct. As a result, Neto risks suspension and could miss the return leg at Stamford Bridge scheduled for the following week.
