China Sees Surge in Cross-Border Travel During Holidays

During the recent May Day holiday, China recorded nearly 11.3 million cross-border trips, indicating a significant increase in travel activity. This figure represents a rise of 1.26 million trips, or 12.5 percent, compared to the same period last year.

The increase in travel is attributed to China's ongoing expansion of visa-free entry policies, which aim to enhance the travel experience for visitors. These measures include longer visa-free stay periods and broader travel access, along with instant tax refund services for departing visitors.

Analysts have noted that these initiatives are part of the Chinese government's strategy to boost tourism and stimulate business activity within the country.
