China Advocates for Enhanced Tourism Ties with Nigeria

Yang Jianx, the director of the China Cultural Center in Nigeria, called for deeper cultural and tourism exchanges between China and Nigeria. He urged Nigerians to visit China to experience its rich civilizational landscape and cultural heritage.

This statement was made during the 2026 China Tourism Day celebration held in Abuja on a Friday. Yang emphasized that tourism serves as a vital bridge for mutual understanding and friendship between the two nations, encouraging Nigerians to explore China's beautiful landscapes.

He noted that both countries share ancient civilizations and rich cultural heritages, with iconic tourism landmarks such as the Great Wall and Mount Tai in China, and the Osun Osogbo Sacred Forest and Zuma Rock in Nigeria. Yang expressed readiness to deepen cooperation with Nigeria under the framework of the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchange and mentioned ongoing cultural tourism initiatives, including traditional performances and culinary exchanges, aimed at fostering friendship and harmony among diverse peoples.
