MURIC Calls for Removal of INEC Chairman Over Genocide Comments

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has called for the immediate removal of INEC Chairman, Professor Joash Amupitan, citing his past comments on insecurity and genocide in Nigeria. Amupitan's remarks on crimes against humanity and war crimes have sparked controversy, with MURIC questioning the international community's silence on the violence in Nigeria.

MURIC's Executive Director, Professor Ishaq Akintola, expressed distrust in Amupitan's ability to oversee fair elections, urging President Donald Trump to intervene. MURIC has urged President Bola Tinubu to sack Amupitan and appoint a qualified replacement, emphasizing the need for a non-partisan and competent individual to lead INEC.
