C&I Leasing Plc Delays Q1 2026 Financial Statement Filing
C&I Leasing Plc has disclosed it will not meet the standard deadline for filing its Q1 2026 unaudited financial statements, citing pending CBN approval of its December 2025 audited accounts. NGX Regulation Limited has granted the company an extended deadline of 29 June 2026, pushing transparency further down the calendar for investors.
C&I Leasing Plc notified the Nigerian Exchange Limited on 15 April 2026 that it will be unable to file its Q1 2026 Unaudited Financial Statements by the standard deadline. The company attributed the delay to the fact that its December 2025 Audited Financial Statements are still awaiting regulatory approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria, its primary regulator. NGX Regulation Limited has since granted an extension, setting 29 June 2026 as the new submission deadline.
The disclosure reveals that C&I Leasing's reporting cycle is caught in a regulatory bottleneck — the CBN's review of the prior year's audited accounts is holding up the entire chain of subsequent filings. For a leasing company operating in a capital-intensive, credit-regulated space, delays in CBN sign-off can sometimes signal ongoing scrutiny of balance sheet items, provisioning, or compliance matters — though nothing specific has been stated in this notice.
Retail investors should watch for three things: whether the December 2025 audited results, once released, reveal any material changes to the company's financial health; whether further filing extensions are requested beyond June 29; and whether the CBN approval eventually comes with conditions attached. Until full financials are available, making informed investment decisions on CILEASING remains difficult.
