Village Boys Movement Plans March Against City Boys

The Village Boys Movement (VBM), a grassroots organization backing the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has announced a Two-Million-Man March set to commence on March 28, 2026, across 15 states including Abia, Adamawa, and Lagos. This march is a direct response to the City Boys Movement, which is mobilizing support for President Bola Tinubu's re-election campaign, led by his son, Seyi Tinubu.

VBM's core philosophy emphasizes accountability and service, contrasting with the City Boys' perceived culture of wealth without responsibility. Maazi Tochukwu Ezeok, a leader within VBM, stated that the movement aims to challenge the status quo and demand credible leadership in Nigeria.

The ADC has not yet announced its presidential candidate for the 2027 elections, and VBM's activities come amid a backdrop of political tension, with police in Akwa Ibom already banning unauthorized rallies. The success of the march will be a critical test of VBM's ability to mobilize support beyond social media.
