CJN Keker Ekun Supports FCCPC's Role in Business Protection

Chief Justice Kudirat Keker Ekun supported the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) in its efforts to safeguard Nigeria's business environment during a keynote address at a three-day conference organized by the National Judicial Institute in Abuja. She highlighted the FCCPC's critical role in maintaining market integrity and ensuring businesses operate within the framework of fair competition and consumer protection laws.

Justice Keker Ekun noted that the Nigerian economy is becoming increasingly sophisticated and digitized, making the enforcement of competition law essential. She stressed the need for continuous engagement between regulatory bodies and the judiciary to ensure effective enforcement of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Act of 2018.

Tunji Bello, the Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the FCCPC, also emphasized the judiciary's crucial role in interpreting competition law and ensuring fair market practices. The conference attracted high-profile participants from Nigeria's legal and regulatory community.
