CJN Commends Admission of Nigerian Judges into International Association of Judges

The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, praised the admission of Nigerian judges into the International Association of Judges (IAJ) at their 67th annual meeting in Baku, Azerbaijan. The Nigerian Association of Judges (NAJN) became the 93rd member of the IAJ, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding judicial independence and upholding human rights.

The IAJ, established in 1953 in Salzburg, Austria, aims to bring together national associations of judges to ensure an independent judiciary. The central council of the IAJ meets annually in different countries, with the recent meeting held in Taipei.
