CNG Price Soars to N450/SCM in Nigeria - Long Queues at Refilling Stations

The price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in Nigeria has surged from N230 to N450 per standard cubic meter (SCM), leading to long queues at refilling stations. This increase follows a government review that reduced subsidies, requiring trucks to pay the full commercial rate while commercial drivers still enjoy partial subsidies.

The Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative aims to prevent transport cost hikes by adjusting pricing based on vehicle types. The initiative focuses on expanding refilling stations to reduce queues and improve nationwide CNG access.

NNPC Gas Marketing Limited recently adjusted prices in line with Federal Government regulations.
