Nigerian Army Inaugurates Ogum Recreational Park in Delta

On a significant occasion, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), highlighted the invaluable role of civil-military cooperation in enhancing national security during the inauguration of the Ogum Recreational Park in Ogum Community, Ndokwa West Local Government Area, Delta State. The park, part of a broader initiative by the Nigerian Army, aims to strengthen civil-military relations and support community development.

Major General E.E. Emekah, the Commander of the 6 Division Nigerian Army, described the initiative as a reflection of the Army's evolving role beyond traditional combat operations, focusing on social infrastructure and public welfare.

Major General Ugochukwu G. Ogeleka, who executed the project, urged the community to take ownership of the facility to ensure its maintenance.

Chief Festu Ochonogor, representing the Delta State Governor, commended the Nigerian Army for complementing government efforts in infrastructure development and promoting unity and peace within the community.
