Coca-Cola and MedShare Donate Medical Equipment to Anambra

Coca-Cola Company, in partnership with MedShare International, donated two 40-foot containers of medical equipment to the health sector in Anambra State, Nigeria. The donation is part of the Coca-Cola Safe Birth Initiative, which aims to improve maternal and newborn healthcare services.

The equipment was officially received by Anambra State Governor Chinw Onuigbo and Frank Ifeanaem, the Anambra State Hospital Administrator, who described the donation as a significant boost to healthcare delivery across the state. The initiative includes practical training sessions for biomedical engineering technicians in both public and private hospitals to ensure proper maintenance and long-term use of the donated equipment.

The training sessions will be led by MedShare's Chief Biomedical Engineer, focusing on the repair and maintenance of medical devices to improve hospital efficiency and patient care outcomes. Among the donated items are 438 medical supplies, including baby incubators, infant warmers, oxygen concentrators, nebulizers, hospital beds, medical refrigerators, wheelchairs, and X-ray screens.

Installation of the equipment in selected health facilities across the state will commence in the coming week.
