Commission Demotes Magistrate For Misconduct, Promotes 97 Staff

The Borno State Judicial Service Commission has taken disciplinary action against Magistrate Yusuf Garba of Chief Magistrate Court 4 in Wulari, Maiduguri, for misconduct. The commission found Garba guilty of misdirecting government revenue and demoted him.

Acting Secretary of the Commission, Saleh Khala Jidda, stated that the Magistrate had been reassigned to a lower position in the registry cadre following an investigation by the Judiciary Public Complaints Committee. In addition to the demotion, the Commission also promoted 97 staff members across various grades, including senior magistrates and principal registrars.

Jidda emphasized the Commission's commitment to ensuring justice and fairness in the court system, as well as punishing corrupt staff members and rewarding those who are honest and diligent. The Commission urged the public to report any corrupt staff members.
