Armed Bandits Move Freely on Nigerian Highways

Solomon Dalung, the former Minister of Sports, expressed alarm over the security situation in Nigeria, particularly regarding armed bandits who are moving freely on highways. He posted a video on his Facebook page that captured an incident where heavily armed bandits were seen greeting security personnel without any hindrance.

Dalung described the scene as heartbreaking, emphasizing the deeply entrenched criminal activities that have become prevalent in the country. This incident comes in the wake of growing insecurity across Nigeria, which has been underscored by a disturbing incident where 39 schoolchildren and seven teachers were kidnapped in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State on May 15, resulting in the loss of a teacher's life.
