Lagos Market Survey: Cooking Gas, Egusi, Yam Prices Surge in October 2025

The October 2025 food price survey in Lagos revealed a mix of price drops and increases across various food items. Notable decreases were seen in the prices of pepper, melon, wheat, and frozen fish.

The Lagos State's food inflation fell from 21.2% in September to 23.0% in August, indicating a gradual moderation in food prices. The increase in prices was attributed to factors such as transportation costs, energy pressures, and scarcity.

However, some relief was observed with a decline in prices of certain food items like tomatoes and onions, driven by better supply chains and harvest inflow from the north.
