Cornelius Adebayo: Life of Service, Sacrifice

Chief Cornelius Adebayo, known as C. Adebayo, was a prominent figure in Kwara State.

He served in various capacities under military administrations, notably during the time of Colonel Ibrahim Taiwo and General Murtala Ramat Mohammed. Adebayo played a key role in the education sector, facilitating the abolition of the shift system in primary schools.

He was also involved in the establishment of the School of Basic Studies at the Kwara State College of Technology. Adebayo was a senatorial candidate in the Second Republic and later joined the Unity Party of Nigeria.

Despite political setbacks, he remained a vocal advocate for democracy, even facing persecution under the Abacha regime. Adebayo later served as Minister of Communications in the Obasanjo administration, showcasing his commitment to public service and dedication to improving the lives of Nigerians.
