Council of State Approves New NPC Chair and Pardons 175 Prisoners

The Council of State approved Aminu Yusuf from Niger State as the new chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC) and granted presidential clemency to 175 inmates nationwide. The decision, presided over by President Bola Tinubu, followed recommendations made during the Council's meeting at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The Council also endorsed the appointment of Alhaji Tonga Betara Bularafa as the Federal Commissioner representing Yobe State in the NPC. The meeting, attended by former Presidents and governors, signifies a significant step in the leadership and governance of the NPC and the justice system.
