Court Adjourns Dangote's Legal Battle with NNPC Over Oil Import Licenses

The Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned a lawsuit filed by Petrochem FZE against the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) regarding oil import licenses. Dangote Refinery, represented by lawyer Ogwu Onoja SAN, is seeking to invalidate the import licenses issued by NNPC to five oil market companies, including AYM Shafa Limited and Rano Limited.

Dangote alleges that the licenses violate the Petroleum Industry Act and undermine the local refining sector. NNPC, through its senior regulatory officer Idri Musa, argues that Dangote's refinery has not met national demand for petroleum products, justifying the import licenses issued.

The case has been adjourned until November 5, 2025, for further proceedings.
