Nnamdi Kanu's Trial Adjourned as IPOB Leader Sacks Legal Team

The trial of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), was adjourned by Justice James Omotosho in Abuja after Kanu sacked his legal team. Kanu's trial, involving seven counts of charges, was adjourned till October 24.

Kanu's lead counsel, Kanu Agabi SAN, withdrew from the case, leading to the adjournment. Kanu faces charges of treason and felony since his first arrest in October 2015.

Twelve individuals, including his brother, were remanded in Kuje Prison following protests related to his case. The court's decision has sparked criticism and allegations of political interference in the judiciary.
