Court Approves Expedited Trial for Alleged UN Building Bombing Mastermind in Abuja

The Federal High Court in Abuja has granted an expedited trial for Alex Enumah, the alleged mastermind behind the 2011 bombing of the United Nations building in the Federal Capital Territory. Enumah, believed to be a top commander of Ansaru, was arraigned alongside four others on charges related to terrorism.

The Department of State Services (DSS) argued for the accelerated trial, emphasizing their readiness for a speedy resolution. The court approved the application, allowing for video recording of the proceedings.

Enumah was arrested in Lokoja, Kogi state, following the attack that killed 20 people and injured 70. The trial has faced delays due to legal and administrative issues.
