Court Clears Rivers LG Polls, Dismisses Suit Against Tinubu

A court in Rivers State has cleared the way for local government polls to proceed, dismissing a suit against Tinubu and RSIEC. The presiding judge ruled that the motion filed lacked merit and directed that the elections must go on as scheduled by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission.

The court also granted another motion for substituted service to the defendants. The matter has been adjourned for further hearing on September 10, 2025.
